The dropout rate for online students is higher than on-campus students, and a probable reason is poorly designed, managed, and/or facilitated online courses. Students who are frustrated and who don't stay on task are apt to leave and it's our job to keep that from happening. The good news is if you get students off to a good start, there's a much higher chance of their success and yours. The instructor's role in the success of the course, the program, student retention, and student achievement is clearly documented.

Here at LCNE, our courses all offer prescribed learning. That is to say our courses are all similar with consistency regarding the navigation menu items, introductory information, structure of the course, etc. The one thing that changes is the content from course to course. When students know what the look and feel of the course is, they will know what to expect and where to find information, easing any frustrations. For this training, we've kept the look and feel similar to a course you'll be teaching. We want you, as faculty to get comfortable with the traditional course feel as well.
